EMDR Intensives
in New York

Concentrated healing that fits into your life. Online across NY or in person in Clinton, NY.

A Different Way to Do the Work

EMDR intensives are built around a simple idea: some things need more than 50 minutes a week. Rather than spreading the work across months of weekly sessions, an intensive gives you dedicated, consecutive days to process what has been stuck, and actually move through it.

With over 15 years of experience, Valerie works with teens and adults who are ready to stop managing their struggles and start resolving them.

Sessions run 4 to 6 hours per day over 1 to 3 consecutive days, available virtually across New York State or in person in Clinton, NY.

An EMDR intensive might be a good fit if you:

Is an Intensive Right for You?

Intrusive memories, flashbacks, or thoughts that feel hard to control

Have limited availability for ongoing weekly appointments

Anxiety that feels tied to specific experiences or triggers

Want to make meaningful progress in a concentrated period of time

You do not need to have everything figured out before reaching out. Part of the intake process is helping you determine whether an intensive is the right format for where you are right now.

What to Expect

An EMDR intensive is not a standard therapy session stretched longer. It is a carefully structured experience designed to give the processing work room to breathe.

Before your intensive begins, Valerie will meet with you for an intake consultation. This is where you will discuss your history, your goals, and whether the intensive format is a good fit. No one moves forward with intensive work before that readiness is assessed.

During the intensive itself, you can expect:

  • Sessions of 4 to 6 hours per day, with breaks built in as needed

  • 1 to 3 consecutive days depending on your goals and what comes up in the intake

  • The same honest, collaborative approach Valerie brings to all her work. Not rushed, not clinical, and not one-size-fits-all

  • A focus on processing experiences at the root level, not just managing symptoms

After your intensive, Valerie will help you think through any next steps, whether that means returning to your regular life, continuing with occasional sessions, or coordinating with another provider if you already have one.

Why an Intensive Instead of Weekly Therapy?

Weekly therapy has real value, but it also has real limits. Every session, you open things up and then close them back down. Progress can be slow, and some experiences need more sustained attention than 50 minutes a week can offer.

An intensive allows the processing work to build on itself across consecutive days, rather than starting and stopping each week. Many people find they move through material in a few days that would have taken months in a traditional format. And because the work is concentrated, it is often more cost-effective in the long run than an extended course of weekly sessions.

Flexible Support, Without the Extra Hassle

Scheduling an intensive should not feel like another thing to manage. From your initial consultation to the intake process and scheduling, everything is set up to be straightforward so you can focus on the work itself.

If something still feels stuck no matter how much you have talked about it, an EMDR intensive offers a different kind of support with concentrated, consecutive days of processing designed to create real relief, not just insight.
